PJS Electric is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team.  PJS Electric is part of PJS Group, which includes a general construction division, where both companies work both separately and, at times, together.  PJS Group is an experienced civil engineering and electrical contractor in the tristate area currently realizing continued growth and success. About the Job

The Project Manager is responsible for the total management of the projects assigned by PJS Group.  As the Project Manager, you are responsible for the total project life cycle, including, but not limited to, planning, budgeting, scheduling, customer interaction and inter PJS reporting and coordination.

 

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing key projects to achieve successful completion of all projects
  • Planning and organizing the project management structure for all phases of projects assigned
  • Assisting with planning and formalizing policies, procedures and standards for the project management system
  • Managing project submittal, RFI, change order and payment process
  • Managing vendors and sub-contractors
  • Providing concise project reporting and accountability
  • Travelling to job sites required
  • Other projects as assigned

 

Required Experience and Knowledge:

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering; Advanced Degree (ME or MBA) or PE license or PM preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years electrical Project Management experience with responsibility for managing large or complex projects. A minimum 5 years of experience in the NYC Heavy Construction Electrical Industry
  • Adherence to contract requirements (Certified payrolls, LEED submittals, Lien Releases, Insurance, OSHA safety etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in Document Control and Project Scheduling Software as well as strong experience in Microsoft Office products such as Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of electrical materials as well as the ability to read electrical drawings; Basic understanding of the New York Electrical Code and Con Ed standards
  • Knowledge of Procore, Vista, Primavera P6, AutoCad and Microstation a plus
  • Must be motivated, independent, and self-sufficient with the ability to receive a project and see it through with minimal supervision
  • Must be well organized, a good communicator and able to effectively organize and schedule tasks
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to travel to worksites and perform necessary manual tasks as required
  • Authorized to work in the US
