Assistant Project Manager

PJS Group is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our team.  PJS Group is an experienced civil engineering and electrical contractor in the tristate area currently realizing continued growth and success. PJS Group has built a solid reputation based on knowledge, experience, reliability and general excellence.  The position will be based in our state of the art New Rochelle office.   About the Job The Assistant Project Manager will work with the Project Team to provide support on the projects assigned by PJS Group. You will work on components of the total project life cycle as assigned by the Project Manager to include but not limited to: planning, budgeting, overseeing and documenting all aspects of the specific projects assigned.   Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work with the team to manage the projects to achieve successful completion of all projects
  • Plan and organize the project management structure for all phases of projects assigned
  • Manage project submittal, RFI, and change order process
  • Provide concise project reporting and accountability
  • Travel to job site required
  • Other projects as assigned
  Required Experience and Knowledge:
  • BS Degree in Engineering
  • 2-3 years experience working on Project Management Team with responsibility of managing projects
  • Knowledge of contract requirements (Certified payrolls, LEED submittals, Lien Releases, Insurance OSHA safety etc.)
  • Computer proficiency including Mac word, excel, Project Scheduling Software
  • Must be motivated, independent, and self-sufficient with the ability to receive a project and see it through with minimal supervision.
  • Leed Certified a plus
  • Must be well organized, a good communicator and able to effectively prioritize tasks
  • Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to travel to worksites
  • Authorized to work in the US
